Alyssa Hall, 2014

Alyssa Hall is an environmental professional in Cape Cod, Massachusetts and holds the position of Communications Director for the North and South Rivers Watershed Association. She has her Master’s of Environmental Science and Management from the Bren School of Environmental Science & Management. Her specialization was Coastal Marine Resource Management as well as a focus in Strategic Environmental Communication and Media. Her culminating Master’s Thesis project was conducting a vulnerability assessment for the impacts of sea level rise on the city of Santa Barbara.

Alyssa earned a Bachelor of Arts at the University of California, Santa Barbara in 2013, majoring in Environmental Studies and minoring in Science and Math Education. During her years at UCSB, she served as the Outreach and Education Coordinator for the Associated Students Coastal Fund, the Co-Director of the Plastic Pollution Coalition at UCSB, and phycology intern at the Cheadle Center for Biodiversity and Ecological Restoration.

She also conducted independent research on the Kids in Nature Program in Santa Barbara, focusing on effects of Environmental Education programs on student’s attitudes and behaviors toward the environment. Alyssa is also a published author, co-authoring the “Native Algae Field Guide of Santa Barbara” through the Cheadle Center for Biodiversity and Ecological Restoration.
